BE CHOOSY

Growing up, my mum would always tell me choose your friends wisely. I would think no, you should always be open to meeting people and making new friends yada yada yada.

But now I get it. We should obviously be nice to everyone and love everyone for the sake of God, but to be close to someone, you should love yourself enough to know who to allow such intimate friendships with. I have a lot of friends, but as I grow up I realize that my close friends, I can count with probably one hand. And Alhamdulillah, they are seriously good people who I'm so lucky to have crossed paths with.

There should only be certain people you would want to spill your heart and soul to, only certain people you can share your dreams with. Cos growing up, you'll realize there are more people out there who would like to see you fall than rise. Not all of course! But just always have that in mind before you spill all. You really never know.

Well I say it's okay to be choosy. Let people call you stuck up, let people call you whatever they want. But at the end of the day, the friends who surround you should be the ones bringing you closer to God and inspire you to become a better version of yourself. The ones who remind you about life priorities and the ones who taps her watch to indicate Zuhur prayer time.

Your friends are practically a reflection of yourself. So surround yourself with good people. In shaa Allah, we'll all want to change to be better too.

Find a good friend and most importantly, be a good friend too.
